This burger from Leon's Full Service in Decatur was the delicious lunch I had on Memorial Day.  The burger is a perfect balance of spicy and mild with a tasty homemade ketchup and mustard sauce on top.  And those itty, bitty, baby pickles?  Those come with the meal, too.

Berry season is upon us as we edge closer & closer to summer.  I have fond memories of blackberries in particular because as a child, I used to pick them at my aunt & uncle's cottage in northern Michigan in the summer. The sun was always warm and the scent of berries were always floating in the breeze.

Two weeks ago, I assisted Julia on a wedding that took place at Empire State South.  The table settings at this wedding were really beautiful.  The light that was coming in through the windows gave the flowers and silverware a nice hazy, glow.

My friend and fellow photographer, Julia Robbs, has the coolest office & living room space.  I like that for the most part it's all black and white with lively pops of green plants or photography on the walls.  Her photography is pretty swell, too, and you should check it out & get enveloped in its beauty: Julia Robbs Photography

The other day I received this cloud cookie cutter from the phenomenal shop, Herriot Grace. I've been coveting pretty much all of the goods in their shop for over a year now and when I saw that the cloud cookie cutters were back in stock I just had to get one. My plan is to use this as a part of my summer promotional piece. I can't wait to get started!

bocce! bocce!

Empire State South is a local restaurant that has an amazing outdoor space that happens to include a bocce ball court.  I helped shoot a wedding that took place here a week ago and I was so in awe of the space.  I really loved the vintage feel of the space and these bocce balls are really cool looking-- pastel and weathered.  Hopefully, I'll be able to go back here as a patron.  I hear their food is delicious.
